The new "one miinute rule" legislation states that a single continous activity undertaken within any given minute period will recorded against that specific action. Essentailly this means if your drive time is less than 29 seconds the whole minute would be recorded as rest.
This is a departure from the previous legislation which specified that any minute with at least 5 seconds of drive time would be recorded as one complete minute of drive time.
Stoneridge electronics have acheived type approval for the SE5000 tacho head which complies with the new minute "One Minute Rule " Legislation. The tacho defaults to rest and if drive is less tahn 29 seconds in any given minute this would be recorded as rest not drive.
By recording drive time and rest in this manner some fleets are gaining an extra 45 minutes per day drive time. Obviously this will vary enormously depending upon the type of fleet operation and those with multi drop and stop start operations would derive the greatest benefit.
If drive time is an issue to you and you feel your buisness could benefit from this new legislation, please call our tacho centres and find out more.
The very best bit of news is that we are offering a special promotion price until the end of September. If you wish to find more please send me an e mail to me
with contact and fleet details and I will come back to you.
